Rebecca Ramirez de Arellano, OWNER, LICENSED MASSAGE + PRENATAL THERAPIST AND BIRTH DOULA
Rebecca graduated with honors from the National Holistic Institute in Los Angeles in 2015 and has received extensive training in many modalities of massage as well as participating as a part of volunteer massage teams at the ASICS LA Marathon, the LA River Ride and the LA Women’s Expo. She is certified in cupping, prenatal/postpartum massage, as an infant massage instructor and birth doula.
Being British by birth but having grown up overseas in China and Thailand, massage and it’s profound benefits have always been an intrinsic part of her life. During a time volunteering at Mother Teresa’s home for the destitute and dying in India, she witnessed first hand how human touch is a powerful force, not only in facilitating healing, but also as a universal language of care, compassion and value. It is much more to her than just an experience; it is a way of life, an art form expressed to an individual to facilitate holistic healing, health and wellness. She believes massage therapy is not a luxury, but a vital component of healthcare.
Enci is based on Rebecca’s Chinese name ćŠć , which means bestowed kindness. Enci Wellness was born out of the desire to provide intuitive, therapeutic and targeted massage therapy sessions that are customized for each individual’s needs. As a massage therapist and as a former ballet dancer also, she understands the effects of repetitive pain, stress and injury on the body so is particularly passionate about not only providing work to allow the body to rehabilitate from injuries quicker, but also to rest and recalibrate, educate clients, address muscular imbalances and retrain the body posturally to prevent pain and injury.
Rebecca has always been drawn to birth work as well. She first witnessed a birth in Togo, West Africa in a healthcare clinic at the age of 19. Then, during her time in India, she helped deliver a baby on the side of the street. After becoming a massage therapist, and getting certified in prenatal/postpartum massage, it felt like a natural progression to train as a birth doula. Rebecca wants to provide and empower women with holistic care throughout every stage of pregnancy and beyond through the benefits of integrative massage therapy, well-rounded information and compassionate labor and birth support so they can have satisfying and rewarding experiences.
